Winter is approaching, and it is essential to prepare your horse truck for winter to prevent problems such as frost damage. Proper preparation will help protect your truck during the cold months.
Here are our winter tips:
- 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: Ensure that the lorry is always connected to shore power to prevent the battery from running flat while the heating is on.
- 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟭⁄𝟮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹: This is important to ensure that the parking heater continues to work. If the fuel level drops below this level, the parking heater will switch off automatically.
- 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀: Especially if the lorry is stationary for a long period of time, it is wise to check regularly for power interruptions.
- 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿: Ensure that all water systems are drained and blown through. Do not forget to dismantle the water pump glasses/filters and drain the water. Consult the truck manual for detailed instructions.
