We recently delivered two new Sport XLs to ECS Livestock. The Sport XL is built on a MAN TGE is a relatively new model which we introduced in July.
ECS Livestock transports horses for customers all over the world. The transports are therefore worldwide by air freight. For some time now, ECS has been using two special MAN TGE vans for pre- and post-transport. Both are equipped with every luxury and comfort for both the driver and the horses.
ECS is active as a logistics service company all over the world. “We work between the agent and the airline and we arrange everything from start to finish. Often these are extremely precious animals and that requires great care, “said director Edwin Hofstede. His clients include traders, owners and riders, but also for large events the services of ECS are used. “For the Olympic Games, for example, we arrange all transports, but we also take care of the logistics for major competitions in Doha.
Luxurious and powerful
For road transport, ECS was looking for vehicles for the B driving license with which two horses can be transported. Hofstede ”We stand for quality and I only wanted the best for my customers and my people. The MAN TGE was chosen because of the quality of the vehicle. A horse transport vehicle based on the MAN TGE did not yet exist, and a concept was developed together with Roelofsen Horse Trucks from Raalte. “I wanted the most luxurious and powerful version of the TGE, combined with the best body on the market. For example, the floor is provided with a gel and the headboard is covered with cushions. We do this to protect the horses. We also have special air conditioning in the back, and there is a tank with fresh drinking water. “”
Appearance is important
Both vans have the 180 hp power source in combination with an automatic gearbox. The vehicles are equipped with luxurious, hydraulic leather suspension seats with heating. ECS opted for full options and the drivers lack nothing. There is even Adapitve Cruise Control and an extensive audio system with navigation on board. Technically, both MANs are equipped with extra stabilization and extra heavy suspension on the rear axle. Furthermore, the vehicles have a tow bar. Appearance is important to ECS and for that reason a chic gray metallic color was chosen, in combination with aluminum rims and a sturdy pushbar at the front.
Both MAN TGE horse transporters are used by ECS itself throughout Europe, but the vehicles can also be rented. In addition to the two MAN TGEs, ECS also has two trucks, which can transport up to 12 horses.
